John Robinson
President--Board of Directors
John Robinson serves as pastor of Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church in New Bern and is the founder of the Coastal Carolina Disaster Resiliency Agency (CCDRA). Following Hurricane Matthew and later Hurricane Florence, John recognized the need for a long-term, locally rooted recovery effort and helped bring together partners to form what would become CCDRA.
With a deep commitment to service and community, John has played a key role in shaping CCDRA’s mission and approach—focusing on collaboration, dignity, and long-term recovery for families across Craven and Jones Counties. His leadership helped establish strong partnerships between faith-based organizations, community groups, and volunteers from across the country.
John and Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church have also been instrumental in supporting the development of the New Hope Volunteer Village (NHVV), providing a home base for volunteer teams serving the area. Through this partnership, hundreds of volunteers each year are able to come alongside local families and support ongoing recovery efforts.
Known for his steady leadership and heart for service, John continues to be a strong advocate for the community, helping ensure that recovery efforts remain active, connected, and focused on the people who need them most.
Kristy Kulberg
Executive Director
Kristy Kulberg is the Executive Director of the Coastal Carolina Disaster Resiliency Agency (CCDRA), where she leads long-term recovery and resiliency efforts across Eastern North Carolina. A survivor of Hurricane Florence, Kristy lost her own home to flooding in 2018—an experience that reshaped her path and fuels her commitment to helping other families navigate recovery with dignity and support.
Kristy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management and brings decades of leadership experience, including owning and operating a small business and managing teams from a young age. She is known for her hands-on leadership style, working closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure recovery efforts are practical, collaborative, and impactful.
In addition to her role at CCDRA, Kristy served back-to-back one-year terms as President of the North Carolina Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NC VOAD), including during Hurricane Helene’s impact on Western North Carolina, and continues to serve in her second three-year term on the Board of Directors. Through this work, she helps strengthen disaster response and recovery coordination across the state and beyond while advocating for sustainable, long-term solutions at the local level.
Kristy’s leadership is rooted in lived experience, strong partnerships, and a deep commitment to the communities she serves. She remains focused on ensuring that families are not forgotten after the storm—and that recovery continues long after the headlines fade.
Jeremy K
Construction Director
Jeremy serves as the Construction Director for CCDRA, where he leads home repair and rebuilding efforts for families across Eastern North Carolina. He brings several years of construction experience to the role, along with a strong focus on safety, quality, and practical solutions that help homeowners move forward.
Jeremy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and served in the United States Marine Corps as a logistician. His military background shaped his ability to lead teams, manage complex operations, and adapt in high-pressure environments—skills he now applies daily in coordinating volunteers, materials, and construction projects in the field.
Like many of the families CCDRA serves, Jeremy was personally impacted by Hurricane Florence and lost his own home to flooding. That experience drives his commitment to the work and gives him a deep understanding of what recovery truly looks like. He works closely with volunteers and homeowners to ensure projects are completed with care, respect, and a focus on long-term stability.
Jeremy’s leadership is steady, hands-on, and rooted in service. He plays a key role in ensuring that each project not only restores a home, but helps rebuild a sense of security for the families served.
Anne B.
Office and Outreach Manager
Anne serves as Office and Outreach Manager for the Coastal Carolina Disaster Resiliency Agency (CCDRA), where she is often the first point of contact for the families we serve. Known for her compassion and client-focused approach, Anne helps guide homeowners through the early stages of recovery with care, patience, and understanding.
She plays a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly while also building strong connections within the community. With service at her core, Anne brings a steady presence and genuine care to every interaction, ensuring each person feels heard, supported, and respected.
Evelyn C.
Disaster Case Manager-
AmeriCorps Service Member
Evelyn Cordero serves as an AmeriCorps Service Member with CCDRA, where she works as a Disaster Case Manager supporting families recovering across Eastern North Carolina. In this role, she works closely with homeowners to navigate the recovery process, connecting them to resources, coordinating support, and helping create a clear path forward.
As a bilingual case manager, Evelyn plays a vital role in ensuring Spanish-speaking families have access to the assistance they need. She helps bridge language gaps that often prevent individuals from seeking or receiving help, making sure every client feels heard, understood, and supported throughout their recovery journey.
Evelyn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, which strengthens her ability to navigate complex systems and advocate for the needs of the families she serves. Her work is grounded in compassion, patience, and a strong commitment to service, building trust with each client and recognizing that recovery is not just about rebuilding homes—but helping people regain stability and move forward.
